Kevin-Keegan has revealed he will approach Alan Shearer about a role at Newcastle after taking over as manager.
"If there is a role that Alan wants, and is right - that's the key - then I would love to have him back here. I will definitely be speaking to him."
He added: "I want to bring the very best to Newcastle United."
Keegan also revealed he had received other offers to return to football after his last job at Manchester City, which he left in March 2005.
